THE LAUNCH AND COMMENCEMENT OF REGIONAL FLIGHTS BY AFRICA WORLD AIRLINES

Africa World Airlines is one of the most patronised domestic airline companies in Ghana. Africa World Airlines launched their commencement of flights from Accra- Lagos/Abuja-Accra yesterday  at the Golden Tulip Hotel, here in Accra. People present to grace the occasion  were the president of AWA Mr. Michael Luo Cheng ,The Co-Chairman Torgbe Afede XIV, Captain E.Dargbe a representative of Ghana Civil Aviation Authority and Mr. Ellis Hugh-Tamakloe. Last but not the least in attendance was the representatives of the various media houses. Mr. Luo Cheng took the opportunity to show gratitude for being given the permission to operate in Ghana.  He stressed that AWA is striving hard to maintain their set standard in order to continue to be the preferred choice of passengers.  Torgbe Afede also took the time to brief all present about  the new aircraft  which is to arrive in two weeks.  This is going to add up to the fleet of aircrafts  they already have.  Torgbe also stressed that AWA hopes to grow their market share and also to operate  beyond West Africa and Africa as a whole.  AWA hopes to fly soon to East African countries such as Kenya and European countries such as France.  AWA hopes to get permit to fly to more destinations such Latin -America precisely Brazil during the 2014 World Cup. AWA hopes to see Accra become the hub of Aviation in Africa.  AWA also boast of having the only commercial female pilot.  The representative of the Ministry Of Transport Mr. Ellis Hugh Tamakloe commended AWA for being competent. AWA has succeeded in  de-mystifying   travelling by air and making it so accessible  and affordable.  He encouraged them to keep up the hard work since the ministry is impressed with their performance.  He cautioned AWA to implore all managerial skills they have to sustain their entrance into the market.  The much anticipated maiden flight from Accra to Lagos / Abuja is to begin on the 2nd of December 2013.
